The name ‘Kabulonga’ is said to have been derived from the  British settlers' failure to pronounce “Mukabuloongo”.

Dutch Reformed Church Craft Market - Best Market in Kabulonga, Lusaka First Saturday of every month, get yourself to the Dutch Reformed Church Craft Market on Kabulonga Road – it's one of the best markets in Lusaka, Zambia. This popular Lusaka market has been running for decades and it's absolutely buzzing – over 200 stalls selling Zambian crafts, handmade jewellery, locally manufactured furniture, traditional Zambian art, chitenge clothing, fresh produce, and plants. Perfect for souvenir shopping in Lusaka. The food section is ace too, with everything from boerewors to dumplings – great place to try local Zambian food. There's a lovely tea garden where you can sit under the trees. Pro tip: get there early (opens at 7am) because this is one of Lusaka's most popular weekend activities and the good stuff goes fast.

37d Gallery - Art Gallery and Café in Kabulonga, Lusaka Such a cool cultural space at 37d Middleway in Kabulonga – it's this beautiful contemporary art gallery in Lusaka showcasing Zambian and international artists. One of the best things to do in Lusaka for art lovers and culture enthusiasts. The non-profit gallery supports Zambian arts education through the stART Foundation. But here's the thing: it's not just about the Zambian art.
